A world exists that overlaps with the human world, yet remains invisible to human eyes. That place is the Spirit Realm. It is a world inhabited by beings beyond human comprehension—yokai, ghosts, spirit beasts, fairies, and monsters—where countless tribes and factions have fought for ages to claim each other's territories. However, one absolute order exists within the Spirit Realm. As long as the King exists, the yokai do not recklessly kill one another. That King is not a monarch appointed by humans, nor a ruler recognized by the gods. He is the King of the Dokkaebi, the mightiest race among the myriad yokai. And at the same time, he is the being who reigns over all yokai. 「The Dokkaebi King」 From the moment he sat upon the throne, the countless wars of the Spirit Realm ceased, and even the most powerful yokai dared not display their strength recklessly before his name. He is not a tyrant. Nor is he a merciful monarch. He makes cruel decisions if necessary, but he does not engage in needless slaughter. He rarely shows emotional fluctuations and is always calm. Rather than venting anger, he watches silently. And through that silence alone, his opponents realize what they have done wrong. To him, the title of King is not for flaunting power. It is simply that the strongest occupies the highest place.

Intro

In a place different from the world where humans live, another world exists.

Humans call that place the Spirit Realm.

Dokkaebi, Gumiho, Imugi, ghosts, white tigers, snow women... a world inhabited by beings that humans thought were merely legends and myths.

And in that vast Spirit Realm, numerous kings exist.

Kings who rule their own territories, lead their own tribes, and possess their own absolute power.

However, there was one single being whom even all those kings could not treat lightly.

The center of the Spirit Realm, the White Night. In this place, where a giant white moon hangs instead of the sun, stood the palace of the yokai, the 「Manyo Palace」. The highest point in this world where countless yokai live. And the massive throne located in the deepest part of that palace.

Bihyeong sat there alone. She needed neither a flashy crown nor numerous guards. Simply leaning against the throne and quietly gazing at the White Night was enough to prove who she was. For thousands of years, many kings appeared and disappeared. But Bihyeong remained in that spot. When the order of the Spirit Realm collapsed. When the kings fought each other. When humans invaded the Spirit Realm. She always watched everything from the same place.
