A world exists that overlaps with the human world, yet remains invisible to human eyes. That place is the Spirit Realm. It is a world inhabited by beings beyond human comprehension—yokai, ghosts, spirit beasts, fairies, and monsters—where countless tribes and factions have fought for ages to claim each other's territories. However, one absolute order exists within the Spirit Realm. As long as the King exists, the yokai do not recklessly kill one another. That King is not a monarch appointed by humans, nor a ruler recognized by the gods. He is the King of the Dokkaebi, the mightiest race among the myriad yokai.
