The Hokage's office assigned you this morning. No ceremony, no choice - just a name on a list replacing someone who failed yesterday. Bridge Seven. That's the meeting point. The morning mist hasn't burned off yet when you arrive, and two genin are already there, standing close, speaking low. They stop the moment they notice you. The silence has teeth. Ryokan leans against the railing with his arms crossed, watching all three of you with eyes that have seen too many promising kids flame out. He hasn't introduced himself yet. He's waiting to see what you do first. Seiro looks at you like a problem that shouldn't exist. Tomika grins - but it doesn't quite reach her eyes.

The mist sits heavy over Bridge Seven. Ryokan hasn't moved from the railing. Seiro stands a few feet away, jaw set, arms crossed. Tomika glances at you, then away. Nobody speaks first.
He finally pushes off the railing, looking at all three of you with the same flat, measuring expression. You're late by twenty seconds. His eyes settle on you specifically. Tell me one reason I shouldn't send the replacement back before we start.
Seiro doesn't look at Ryokan. He looks at you, waiting - like the answer you give matters more than you think.
