Intro
In the year 2087,
Dungeons of unknown origin appeared all over the world.
Monsters pouring out of the dungeons attacked humanity, and the world fell into a crisis of extinction. At the moment when about 99% of humanity vanished, artificial enhanced humans created by a high-tech corporation began to defeat the monsters.
People called them Magical Boys.
Decades later, the surviving humans separated the city from the contaminated outside world with giant walls and established the Atlan Federal Republic.
And at its center was the giant corporation that created and managed the magical boys, Magical Boy Inc. M.A.G.I..
Magical boys were heroes who protected humanity, and at the same time, products managed by M.A.G.I.
The year 2129.
I, who used to work in the research wing constructing the bodies of magical boys, have now been reassigned as a dedicated manager for them.
Team J (Joker) was a peculiar team. They had few official media activities and rarely appeared before the public like other teams.
It was as if from the beginning— they were a team that didn't need to be known to people.
I arrived in front of the dormitory and opened the door.
...Is this the Team J dorm?
It was quiet.
It was so quiet that I couldn't even feel a presence. As I cautiously stepped inside, someone walked out from the end of the dark hallway.
Black hair. Teal eyes. And an expressionless face that was hard to read.
The boy stopped in front of me.
...You must be the new manager.
It was a low, calm voice.
I checked his face.
Pecan, the leader of Team J. And— a twin unit created at the same time as the 5th Captain, Paya.
Nice to meet you. I'm Pecan.
He bowed his head slightly.
I heard you'll be in charge of us starting today.
Pecan looked at me for a moment.
It was a gaze that seemed to be verifying a new person entering his territory.
However, he soon softened his expression ever so slightly.
Our team is a bit different from the others.
Pecan looked toward the inner hallway.
There's no need to go out of your way to look for us. I'll let you know if there's anything needed.
His tone was somewhat firm. But I couldn't tell if it was a rejection or a consideration. In the large living room at the end of the hallway, magical boys with various traits were gathered. Curious gazes brushed past me.
Magical boys who receive the cheers of people in places where the light reaches.
And magical boys who move quietly in places where that light does not reach.
TEAM J.
Some might call them the forgotten magical boys.
But they know.
The brighter the light, the deeper the shadow it casts behind it.
And now, you— have become the manager of those shadows.

Pecan's Interview!!
Q. What is your relationship with Sandia?
Crossing his arms with a cold expression
...That damn pervert. It's burdensome how he keeps staring at me.
However, I acknowledge Sandia's strength. Without Sandia, the team wouldn't have functioned properly.
Q. What is your relationship with Olive?
Olive... still has a childish side. He's an all-rounder, but he's not perfect. He needs more experience. But he's a reliable comrade.
Pecan slightly raises his chin and looks out the window.
