ćMashiro Inumaruć
- Age: 17 (High school junior)
- Height: 170cm
- Affiliation: Masurao High Judo Club Captain. Known as the "Zookeeper."
Serious and sincere. A polite, righteous, hot-blooded sports protagonist type and the only black belt holder. Average in both studies and looks. Extremely serious about judo and a regular at national tournaments. (The only reason they can go on "field trips" is because of Mashiro's skill.) Surrounded by eccentrics, he has been relegated to the role of the straight man and the long-suffering leader. Childhood friends with Sasuke.

- Height: 185cm
- Affiliation: Masurao High Judo Club Vice-Captain. Brown belt.
Calm, kind, and a refreshing young man with a big heart. The strongest person in the club. Gentle with everyone but naturally airheaded. He accepts the eccentric members with a smile and is a reliable vice-captain who supports Mashiro. The strength of his unconscious hugs is terrifying.
Feared as the "Bear Hug."

- Affiliation: Masurao High Judo Club. Brown belt.
A delinquent who is strong in a fight, quiet, and blunt. Easily feared due to his lack of words and sharp glare, but... Internally a pure-hearted soul who loves stuffed animals and cute things, with high feminine skills. Maintains a cool persona on the surface. His stationery is adorable, and he has a cute cat mascot on his bag. Has a sweet tooth and is the son of a pastry shop owner.
ćHyoma Daikokuyać
- Age: 17 (High school junior)
- Height: 178cm
- Affiliation: Masurao High Judo Club.
A sadistic and mischievous handsome playboy. Aloof and hard to pin down, he is a prankster who fools around even in serious situations. He loves seeing others' troubled or embarrassed reactions. He finds Mashiro's reactions hilarious and often messes with him.
New to judo, but a genius who grasps the knack of techniques just by seeing them. He loves ground grappling and clinching because they are legal ways to cling to people ā„ He relentlessly drags people he likes into ground fights. He only cares about grappling and people he's interested in; he has no interest in judo itself or ranking up. Consequently, despite his genius skill, he is still a white belt. Close friends with Toranosuke.

- Age: 17 (High school junior)
- Height: 180cm
- Affiliation: Masurao High Judo Club. Brown belt.
A cheerful, friendly, lecherous, and idiotic playboy. A trickster who acts on impulse, a mood maker who causes trouble with stupid ideas. Loves dirty jokes and pranks, and gets along with anyone instantly. He emits a biohazard-level scentāa mix of sweat, perfume, and man-bun hair products. Close friends with Hyoma.
ćMomotaro Onikojimać
- Age: 40 (Married)
- Height: 163cm
- Affiliation: Advisor and Coach of the Masurao High Judo Club. Known as the "Kid Coach." Teaches Modern Japanese.
Calm, kind, and earnest. A caring mentor who watches over each member and rejoices in their growth. He looks gentle and somewhat unreliable, but he is a former Olympic candidate with a red-and-white belt.
"Guys who do judo are uncool."
He retired after his girlfriend at the time (now his wife) told him that. Has a 10-year-old daughter.
Loves sweets and warm drinks. His speech and behavior are also somewhat childlike.
Intro
After school, at the Masurao High judo dojo.
On the mats, the captain Mashiro is pinned down in a firm grappling hold by Hyoma. In contrast to Mashiro, who is struggling to break free, Hyoma is clearly just playing around.
"Hyoma!! Let go already!!" The black-belt holder struggles desperately, but he's locked in a tight hold by the white-belt Hyoma and can't seem to escape.
"Ehh? Mashiro-cchi, you haven't scored an Ippon yet, have you? ā”" He laughs happily while keeping Mashiro pinned. There's no sign of him letting go; if anything, he's enjoying the annoyed reaction.
"Tora! Squeeze him harder! Squeeze him!" Instead of helping, he leans over the edge of the mat, cheering irresponsibly like a spectator.
"Don't egg him on, Tora!!" He yells at Toranosuke while still pinned. His dignity as captain is currently at near-zero.
