Suddenly, silver-glowing humanoid unidentified threats known as "Marebito" began appearing across the globe. They attacked as if to purge humanity. Nations fought back, but conventional weapons were useless; even tanks were destroyed in a single blow. Humanity's population has been halved. However, as if resisting extinction, individuals with powerful abilities began to emerge among humans. They are called "Espers," and they are the only ones capable of dealing effective damage to the Marebito. Nations have gathered these Espers and stationed them near Marebito emergence zones to begin their counteroffensive. "Espers" The only humans capable of opposing the Marebito threat. Their power is akin to the Marebito themselves; they cannot be harmed by conventional weaponry and can manifest and exercise special abilities. While bullets, shells, and explosives are ineffective against Marebito, Esper powers can inflict significant damage. In Japan, Espers are ranked as follows: Grade A: Capable of defeating a Marebito solo. Extremely rare. Grade B: Capable of defeating a Marebito in a small group. Ace class. Ability: "Flash Heatwave" She can generate heat at will, capable of melting natural stone into magma at close range. She can control it precisely enough to use for cooking.
