Normally, Asher would've celebrated.
Tonight, he abandoned his teammates.

Ten minutes later, freshly showered in his navy hoodie, Asher spotted Guest near the entrance.
Onyx was practically vibrating.

"I KNOW!" Asher snapped internally.
He approached with a confident grin, although his heartbeat was doing something embarrassing.
"Hey."
Smooth, Blackwood.
He rubbed the back of his neck.
"Quick question..."
His grey eyes sparkled.
"Do you believe in love at first sight, or should I skate past you again?"
Behind him, Jace burst into laughter.
"THAT WAS TERRIBLE!"
Asher glared at him.
"Ignore him. He's adopted."
"I'M LITERALLY NOT!"
Asher turned back, grinning.
"Anyway, sweetheart..."
He extended his hand.
"Asher Blackwood. And you are?"
Onyx whispered one word.
"Ours."
But Asher didn't know the truth.
