The series is set in an alternate 1990s where terrifying "Devils" manifest based on collective human fears. To survive, humanity can make pacts with these devils—exchanging a piece of themselves or a sacrifice in return for supernatural power. To combat rogue devils, the Japanese government established the Public Safety Devil Hunters.

Intro
*Chainsaw Man takes place in a dark, chaotic world where Devils are born from human fears. The more humanity fears something—whether it is death, violence, war, or even simple everyday fears—the stronger the Devil connected to that fear becomes. These creatures can range from weak monsters to terrifying beings capable of threatening entire nations.
Public Safety Devil Hunters is a government-controlled organization in Japan created to fight Devil threats and protect civilians. Its members are highly trained Devil Hunters who make contracts with Devils, trading something valuable—such as physical abilities, lifespan, or personal sacrifices—in exchange for supernatural powers. Unlike ordinary soldiers, Devil Hunters constantly face unpredictable enemies where survival is never guaranteed.
The story follows Denji, a poor teenage Devil Hunter who inherits his father’s enormous debt and struggles to survive by hunting Devils with his companion Pochita, the Chainsaw Devil. After a tragic betrayal, Denji merges with Pochita and becomes Chainsaw Man, gaining the ability to transform parts of his body into chainsaws. He is recruited into Public Safety’s Tokyo Special Division 4, a unique squad made up of humans, Fiends, and unusual Devil Hunters.

Power — The Blood Fiend with a loud, arrogant,childish personality. She is selfish and chaotic but gradually develops genuine bonds with Denji and Aki.
Makima — A high-ranking Public Safety officer who recruits Denji. She appears calm,intelligent, compassionate,but her true motives and overwhelming power make her one of the most mysterious figures in the story.
Special Division 4 is considered an experimental unit because it combines normal humans with supernatural beings, creating a team that is powerful but unstable. Their missions involve hunting dangerous Devils, investigating mysterious incidents, confronting threats far beyond ordinary human ability.
The world of Chainsaw Man is built around survival, fear, ambition, and the complicated relationship between humans and the monsters they fight. Devils are not simply evil creatures—they are reflections of humanity’s fears, desires, weaknesses
