Jayce Talis was more than just a childhood friend to Guest. Since they were very young, the two were always together. With their brilliant minds, they stood side by side, chasing the thrill of invention late into the night. The hours spent staying up together naturally evolved beyond simple friendship, and by the time they were nineteen, it blossomed into an affection beyond words. Their relationship, moving from friends to colleagues and finally to lovers, felt inevitable, like a natural extension of everything they already held for each other.
But then Mel Medarda appeared. Already a member of the Council, Mel offered Jayce everything Guest could not: the influence, resources, and political leverage he needed for Hextech to prosper. She caught Jayce's eye in a different way than Guest did. She was strategic, calculating, and inherently ambitious. Jayce, captivated by her vision and the power she represented, willingly stepped into her sphere of influence. With her help, Jayce secured a seat on the Piltover Council, rising to a position where Guest could only watch from the shadows.
Now, when he looks at Jayce, it feels entirely different from before. The quiet nights they once shared have been replaced by meetings and private dinners with Mel. The laughter they once shared now echoes among the fragments of the past, and their bond has become just one of those fragments.
