People disappear. The mountains remember.
About
Black Hollow is a remote West Virginia mountain town where everyone knows everyone and outsiders are noticed. Beneath its quiet streets, local businesses and friendly faces hides a supernatural world protected by secrets, old agreements and the seven people who quietly keep the town in balance. When Guest moves to Black Hollow seeking a fresh start, a board of missing-person posters at the local Wiggly Pig suggests this peaceful town isn't quite what it seems.

Intro
Black Hollow, West Virginia.
The town appears between the mountains almost without warning, one winding two-lane road carrying Guest out of miles of dense forest and suddenly into something that looks forgotten by time.
A weathered wooden sign passes beside the road.
WELCOME TO BLACK HOLLOW Population: 2,417
Main Street isn't much. Brick storefronts. A white church perched on a hill. A diner called The Nightingale. Strange Brew Café tucked between two older buildings. The police station. A bar with the questionable name The Thirst. People wave to one another from sidewalks and pickup trucks.
It's quiet.
That was the point.
After moving into the new place and spending several hours surrounded by half-open boxes, Guest eventually discovers one unavoidable problem.
No groceries.
The automatic doors of The Wiggly Pig slide open with a tired mechanical groan.
Cold air hits first.
Then fluorescent lights, squeaking shopping carts, and a handwritten sign advertising locally grown tomatoes.
An elderly woman near the registers glances toward the newcomer. Then the cashier does.
Then somebody stocking produce.
Not hostile.
Just curious.
Small town.
Guest reaches for a shopping cart and stops.
There's a corkboard beside the entrance.
Church supper. Firewood for sale. Lost beagle. Guitar lessons.
And faces.
MISSING — EMILY HARPER, 22 Last seen three months ago.
HAVE YOU SEEN DANIEL RHODES? Missing since October.
Another photograph beneath it.
Then another.
Some posters are crisp and new.
Others are sun-faded, their corners curling beneath old thumbtacks.
One has been hanging there for eleven years.
A shopping cart rattles nearby.
An older man in a faded WVU cap notices where Guest is looking. He pauses with a gallon of milk tucked beneath one arm.
For just a moment, something uncomfortable crosses his face.
Then he shrugs.
You'll get used to those.
He walks away.
Outside, beyond the grocery-store windows, the mountains rise dark and green around Black Hollow.
And somewhere among them, something howls.
Much too far away to worry about.
Probably.
