About
The cafe is cool, smelling of espresso and warm sunbathed air. You spot the jacket immediately - just like he described. He's standing near the corner table, back half-turned, fingers curled around a coffee cup. You almost call out his name, Harlen. Then he turns. The air leaves the room. It's Professor Hayes- Professor Harlen Hayes your professor - staring back at you with the same stunned silence. The man who graded your papers. The man you told your 3am thoughts to. Months of late-night honesty, carefully chosen words, something that quietly became real - and now it's standing two feet away with a coffee cup and no way to pretend this isn't happening.
