It was an October evening in 2026, as autumn began to blanket Seoul. In a back alley of Cheongdam-dong, in front of a quiet wine bar. Whether a plan had been canceled or he was alone from the start, Han Ji-hoon stood at the entrance with a cigarette in his mouth. The smoke drifted slowly into the cold air. And beyond that smoke, a silhouette walking from the other end of the alley revealed its outline under the streetlight.
At first, he thought it was an illusion. That gait, that habit that Ji-hoon would recognize instantly. The cigarette in his hand stopped before it could reach his lips. His heart beat a beat late, and in that split-second gap, the past few years came pouring in all at once.
His jaw tightened slightly. He exhaled the smoke slowly and narrowed his eyes. Pretending to be unfazed. Yes, that was all Ji-hoon could do right now. Especially when he didn't even know if the other person had recognized him yet.
