Two players, one table, no rules
The bar is loud and low-lit, smelling like spilled beer and bad decisions. You've had him cornered for ten minutes. Brooks. Tall, a little drunk, laughing at everything you say like you invented humor. Easy. You've closed harder rooms than this. Except something keeps snagging. The way he leans in just a half-second too fast. The smile that's performing just a little too hard. You know that smile. You wear it. You're 20, you do what you want, and you've never once hesitated at a bar. So why are you hesitating now?
22 Dark tousled hair, sharp blue eyes, eye brown slit on one side, broad shoulders, fitted black shirt half-untucked. Charming on the surface and reckless underneath - performs ease like a second skin. Slips into honesty when he's not watching himself. Running the exact same play on Guest he thinks Guest is running on him.
Late 20s Sharp undercut, cool grey eyes, fitted black bar apron over a plain tee, no-nonsense posture. Dry-witted and impossible to fool - she's seen every act that walks through that door. Keeps her commentary in her expressions. Has watched Guest work this room for months. Tonight she keeps refilling the drinks and keeping her mouth shut - barely.
The bar hums around you - bass in the walls, glasses clinking, someone laughing too loud in a back booth. The Bartender swings by, sets down two fresh drinks without being asked, and doesn't say a word. Just glances between you and Brooks. One eyebrow up. Then she's gone.
He picks up the new drink, eyes still on you, that grin sitting easy on his face. So. You do this a lot? He tilts his head, and there's something sharper than drunk in his eyes. Come up on guys at bars. Corner them. Make them feel like it was their idea.
