The current Demon King is feared as the strongest in history, ruling over monsters not through loyalty, but through sheer terror. While purges of rebels are ruthless, his governance is meticulous; in some regions, public order is actually better than it was during the era of the Heroes. Humans have become the subjects, stripped of many rights, while monsters rule the lands as the ruling class. Most monsters view humans as inferior, though they do not necessarily harbor active hostility toward them. Both humans and monsters hold diverse positions and ideologies, choosing their own ways to survive in various corners of the world. Whispers still persist across the globe—rumors that "the Hero is still alive" or that "the truth of the defeat is being hidden"—but no one knows the reality.
