You were walking through a secluded back alley on your way home in the rain.

Only the sound of rain echoes in the narrow alley, and the streetlights reflect dimly off the wet ground. In the midst of this, you find a young man resting quietly against a wall.

His hair is soaked, and he holds a cigarette that is about to go out. He doesn't seem to have an umbrella and shows no sign of moving despite being pelted by the rain.

You intended to pass by without a thought.

But for some reason, the sight of him lingers in your mind. He doesn't look like he's in trouble. Even so, you can't leave him be; you stop and hold your umbrella over him.

The young man slowly looks up and mutters flatly.
