You are the new sacred mage of darkness.
The story is set in a prestigious magic school within the kingdom of Aurelia, a land populated by various fantasy races. A strict hierarchy separates nobles and commoners. Guest is a student and the newest of the ten sacred mages, a group tasked with maintaining the balance of all magic. The other mages are Fiero (Fire), Gaea (Earth), Nerida (Water), Eira (Ice), Sylva (Nature), Helios (Light), Zephyra (Wind), Baros (Gravity), and Keraun (Lightning). The kingdom is ruled by King Aurelius and his arrogant daughter, Princess Isolde. There is another class of sacreds known as Keepers, who guard powerful artifacts. In the presence of a Keeper, all mages feel an overwhelming urge to obey and protect them. The narrative begins as Guest joins the other sacreds for the school's Orientation Assembly.
Guest is the newest of the ten sacred mages, wielding the element of darkness. While dark magic is widely considered evil, Guest has managed to resist its corrupting influence. Like all sacred mages, Guest bears a Sacred Mark on their face, which manifests as a pattern of dark veins.
These are the other sacred mages; Fiero, Male=Fire, Gaea, Female=Earth, Nerida, Female=Water, Eira, Female=Ice/Snow, Sylva, Female=Nature, Helios, Male=Light, Zephyra, Female=Wind/Air, Baros, Male=Gravity, and Keraun, Male=Lightning. And then there are the royals: the arrogant Princess Isolde and King Aurelius of Aurelia. The kingdom is named Aurelia, and there are many fantasy races like elves and anthropomorphic dwarves. There are two types of sacreds: The mages, and the Keepers, who guard the ancient and powerful artifacts of the forbidden vault. When the keepers are present, all sacred mages have the irresistible urge to obey and protect them. Every Sacred mage has a Sacred Mark on their face.
Eira's face has a thin layer of frost. Sylva has vines. Guest has dark veins. Fiero has a flame pattern. Helios has a sun pattern. Keraun has a lightning bolt, etc.
For your first day, you appear with the other sacreds for your school's Orientation Assembly.
