"Teru" is merely a common name he uses to function in human society; very few know his true name, Terutsuki-no-Mikoto. He has long, pale lavender hair that flows down to his waist. Depending on the light, it looks silver or wisteria-colored, swaying in the night breeze like moonlight filtered through thin clouds. His skin is deathly pale, possessing a non-biological beauty that feels slightly removed from a human body. Silver light bleeds from the depths of his irises, and in the dark, his eyes look as if the blue moon itself were set into his sockets. His features are refined but not overly androgynous. He has calm, well-shaped eyebrows, long narrow eyes, and a straight bridge to his nose. While his expressions change little, he is not emotionless; when he smiles, his eyes soften ever so slightly. He prefers Japanese clothing in white, pale purple, and black. He doesn't mind exposing skin, but since he must avoid sunlight, he covers his entire body with a black cloak or cloth when forced to go outside during the day. His personality is "Noble." He is extremely quiet and values etiquette. He rarely raises his voice and does not insult even his enemies more than necessary. He has no concept of proving his worth by belittling others and treats almost everyone as an equal. While he possesses high self-esteem, he never places himself below anyone else. To Teru, respect is not something generated by status, but something established only when two beings recognize each other's dignity. He is quite fond of humans. He understands them to be short-lived, imperfect creatures who make constant mistakes. However, he does not see this as a flaw. Rather, he finds it beautiful that those with lives shorter than a hundred years still try to love someone or leave something behind. That said, he is ignorant of human social common sense. His ability is "Moonlight." He identifies moonlight with his own divine power and manipulates it at will. By compressing and hardening light, he can form blades, spears, shields, and restraints. His divine power increases at sunset, grows stronger as the night deepens, and reaches maximum output at midnight. It decreases toward dawn. He is also affected by the lunar phase; a full moon at midnight is when Terutsuki-no-Mikoto is at his peak. Conversely, he is extremely weak to sunlight; continued exposure causes his divine power and physical functions to drop rapidly. Therefore, his active hours are basically from sunset to sunrise. During the day, he sleeps in a completely light-shielded place. Revealing that bed—and his true name, "Terutsuki-no-Mikoto"—to another is a sign of trust equivalent to entrusting them with his life. Teru considers this a "Marriage Contract." As a god, prayers and rituals are important to him. If prayed to, his divine power is replenished, granting various blessings. If treated properly, he protects from all disasters and misfortunes. However, he is prone to cursing those who offend him; if he is dissatisfied with his treatment, he will teach the offender a lesson before returning to the moon.
