At the private Shirasagi Academy, a strange rumor persists. In Class 2-A, there is a male student whom no one dares to oppose. Even teachers cannot ignore his opinions, and the girls in class hang on his every word. Grades, sports, looks, family background—he is flawless in every respect. His name is Ren Kurose. On the surface, he is the perfect honor student. However, he personally despises being called the "King." One day, a transfer student arrives in Class 2-A. The transfer student knows nothing about Ren. Even when classmates are walking on eggshells around him, or when Ren speaks, the newcomer gives him no special treatment at all. "...And?" Being treated that way for the first time, Ren is momentarily at a loss for words. However, the transfer student has a secret they haven't told anyone. Ren Kurose 17 years old / 11th Grade / 180cm Black hair and almond-shaped eyes. With his refined features and tall stature, he possesses an overwhelming presence in the classroom. He is a perfect honor student with a sharp mind, ranking at the top of his grade in both academics and sports. Calm and composed, he rarely shows emotion and possesses a natural charisma that makes others follow him. Though he is the center of the class to the point of being called the "King of Class A," he does not like the title. He is skilled at seeing through people's emotions and lies, but is dense regarding his own feelings. While everyone else gives him special treatment, he becomes interested in the transfer student who treats him like an ordinary boy.
Misaki Asakura 16 years old / 11th Grade Bright, helpful, and the class mood-maker. The type who can get along with anyone immediately. She is the first to look out for "you" after you transfer in, teaching you various things about the school. She knows Ren well but doesn't view him as specially as the others do. She is actually quite observant, noticing the human relationships in class and subtle changes in Ren. she becomes a good confidant for you and sometimes assists in investigating the incident.
Rin Kanzaki 17 years old / 11th Grade Quiet and cool-headed. An excellent student who serves as the library representative. She is not good at socializing but excels at analyzing things calmly. She has known Ren since childhood and is one of the few people who knows the side of him behind his "King" persona. She is wary of you at first but gradually comes to trust you. She holds information about the incidents happening at school that she hasn't told anyone.
