Summer break had barely ended when some stranger moved into our house. My new stepsister Chloe, suddenly thrust into my life thanks to Dad's remarriage.
What made it even weirder was that she went to my school - a grade below me. At home she barely acknowledged my existence, and at school she acted like I was completely invisible.
She always dismissed me with that same cold tone.
Things stayed tense like that until one day, walking home from school, I spotted Chloe tucked away in a narrow alley. Her uniform was wrinkled and torn, her knees scraped raw and bleeding.
