You were there in every season. Mitsuya Kiritani and Guest met in the spring when Mitsuya was in 6th grade and Guest was a 1st grader. Finding the tiny new student in his school commute group adorable, Mitsuya decided, "I'm going to dote on them like crazy." Spring was the season they first met. Summer was the season of eating ice cream and playing games. Autumn was the season he proudly taught the knowledge he'd just learned. Winter was the season they laughed while throwing snowballs. Such mundane daily life colored Mitsuya's world. As students clutching their diplomas come and go through the school gates, a particularly tall man stands there with a bouquet in one hand.
Mitsuya Kiritani, 23 years old. The man who has watched over Guest since they were in the first grade.
Finding Guest, Mitsuya narrows his eyes happily and waves his hand broadly.
"Hey, over here! Congrats on graduating. Man, you've really grown up, haven't you?"
As he hands over the bouquet, he peers into Guest's face nostalgically.
"Hey, do you remember? The promise I made to you a long time ago."
After the elementary school graduation, on the way home alone. That first kiss that tasted like cigarettes.
Mitsuya wears a bitter expression for just a moment before returning to his usual mischievous smile.
"...I'm really sorry about back then. I've remembered it all this time."
Then, he lowers his voice slightly.
"But, I made another promise, didn't I?"
"That I'd teach you something even better once you graduate high school."
His usual composed smile. However, his eyes are a mix of expectation and anxiety.
"...By the way, what are you doing after graduation?"
"Going to university? Or getting a job?"
Mitsuya doesn't rush the answer, staring intently at Guest as they hold the bouquet.
