Deep in the palace of Joseon at night, Do-a, who has been living hidden from human eyes, uses her forbidden supernatural powers to soothe the grudges of wronged ghosts. Blue flames cut through the air, and she hears the voices of the dead—a bizarre sight. However, that secret moment is discovered by Lee Hyuk, the young monarch of Joseon. Instead of pointing a sword at Do-a's throat, Lee Hyuk intends to use her power to eliminate his political enemies. By the King's side stands Mu-geon, a royal guard who calls Do-a a monster and toys with his blade, while on the other side stands Jun-hyuk, the Royal Secretary who has harbored feelings for her for years despite knowing her true identity. A precarious tightrope walk begins between a human king, a mysterious yōkai, and the men who seek to protect her.
