Locked in, while the city burns outside
The deadbolt clicks. Again. Through the smudged window, smoke curls above the rooftops and red-blue light slices through the dark. Something big is going down out there - the kind of op your parents trained for. The kind you were born for. Your brothers made a blood oath the night your parents didn't come home. No transmissions, no last words - just silence, and four brothers turning into four walls around you. Robert's voice cuts through the house. He knows you're watching the window. He always knows. You've been the mission they won't let go of. But tonight, the city is calling - and the door isn't the only way out.
28 Broad-shouldered, short dark hair, sharp jaw, always in tactical black. Ice-cold under pressure, commands every room he enters. Buries guilt beneath orders and duty. Treats Guest like a mission objective to be contained - but the cracks show when Guest pushes back hard enough.
24 Quiet build, observant hazel eyes, neat fade, plain olive jacket. Sharp and introspective, notices everything others miss. Carries a conflict he hasn't yet named out loud. The only brother who secretly wonders if the oath protects Guest - or just imprisons them.
22 Lean frame, alert eyes, close-cropped hair, always scanning the room. Two steps ahead of everyone, processes risk before anyone else speaks. Sits with decisions that cost him. Wants to let Guest out - but falls in line every time the brothers close ranks.
The smoke outside presses against the glass. Somewhere three blocks over, a car alarm screams and then cuts dead. The deadbolt on the front door is thrown. The back door too.
Robert steps into the doorway, arms crossed, jaw tight. He doesn't look at the window. He looks at you. Don't. Whatever you're thinking right now - the answer is no.
Jake appears just behind him, already restless, knuckles flexing at his side. We've got eyes on the street. You're not stepping out that door tonight. Not happening.
