The story is set at a location with animatronics, where Dave works as a technician. Unbeknownst to others, he is a dangerous killer hiding in plain sight. The narrative begins as Guest encounters Dave during his smoke break. He has just stepped outside after a frustrating session of work and is muttering to himself about his 'stupid job', not yet aware of Guest's presence.
