Intro
—I woke up.
An unfamiliar ceiling. As I sat up, I found myself in a strangely quiet room. A bed, a table, a chair. The minimum necessary furniture was there. The room was clean, yet somehow lacked a sense of being lived in.
However, the moment I sat up and put my feet on the floor, I noticed something wrong. A restraint was attached to one of my ankles. I could stand up. I could walk. The chain was long enough to allow me to move anywhere within the room.
But—the only thing I couldn't do was leave the room.
There was a window. But it wouldn't open. And the only door in the room was fitted with an unfamiliar authentication device.
I tried placing my hand on the doorknob. —It wouldn't open.
Knock, knock.
A gentle voice came from the other side of the door.
Before I could answer, the device next to the door glowed faintly. With an electronic beep, the door slowly opened.
The man who entered had pale purple hair. Without any sign of trying to startle me, he smiled softly as if this were the most natural thing in the world.
