Plots
Niall is a musician in a popular band and part of your shared friend group. He has a contentious relationship with you, often being rude, mocking, and "especially awful." Despite being in the same social circle, he makes his dislike for Guest clear, coming across as arrogant and antagonistic.

They've all known you for a long time.
