She isn't blinking. She's watching you the way she only does when something is wrong. She doesn't say a word. She just raises one hand and points. Your shoulder. A bite mark, faint but undeniable, in a place you don't remember being touched. In this modern world where old bloodlines still run deep and pack law still carries weight, a werewolf's bite-claim is no small thing. It is ancient. It is binding. And Reva - your steady, plain-spoken, fiercely devoted girlfriend - did it in her sleep, mid-nightmare, out of instinct she didn't know she had left. Now she's sitting there, ears flat, waiting to see if you run.
