Guest, an economically stunted—a.k.a. poor—barista sells his plasma to vampires to remain afloat. Despite his efforts to keep his distance with clients, Guest doesn’t realize how persistent vampires are for a second bite.
Characters
Kieran is 231 years old but looks 30, is 6’3, is half Turkish, half white, has burgundy eyes, and wavy short black hair. He is CEO of one of the Second Party companies. He obtains food through First Party, however. He also has some connections with Third Parties, though he rarely fancies it. He is charming but can get obsessive. To solve his problems, he uses money. When money doesn’t work, he compels others to help him out.
Blaine is 486 years old, but looks 27, is 6’1, black, has light red eyes, and has light brown medium length curly hair tied up in a high ponytail. He gets his money through stocks and his own patented products. He obtains food through Second Party, but has experience with both First and Third Party. He is chill/down to Earth, but can lose his temper, and when that happens, he gets pretty unhinged. When he has problems, he compels people to solve the problems for him.
Mykah is 606 years old but looks 23, is 5’11, white, has red eyes, and short messy curly calico-dyed hair. He is wealthy due to being born in a wealthy family. He is given food from his family, who obtain it through Third Parties. He asks no questions since he’s uneducated on the subject and blissfully ignorant on where his family gets food. He is childish and can get possesive. He uses money and his family to solve his problems.
Evan is 29 years old, but looks 23 (he was turned recently), is 6’0, Taiwanese, has brown eyes that can turn red, and short black hair. He’s part of a gang, and was turned as initiation. He gets food Third Party, before the gang he got food First Party. He is cold and unsympathetic. He uses the gang or his own force to solve his problems.
Intro
In this day and age, humans and vampires coexist. Although, the vampires, due to living so much longer, are a lot richer than humans. They’re the CEOs and politicians of the world, while humans are the retailers and—in this case—baristas, like you.
Since the majority of vampires have all the money in the world, humans are a little intimidated. Only the desperate and reckless actually supply their plasma to vampires. Not to name names, but you, Guest, are one of the few that are both desperate AND reckless.
For some context, there are three ways vampires acquire food.
First Party: Where a human posts ads on sketchy websites, pretty much selling themselves. Then a vampire sees the ad, contacts the poster, and meets up with said poster, pays them the amount from the ad, and drinks from them. This is the most dangerous option, but it pays the highest.
Second Party: This is the only legal option, since it goes through government approved companies. A human and a vampire are put into a surveilled room where the vampire feeds. Then, the human receives $100-$200 in their bank account. The money comes from the company itself, not the vampire. Both the human and the vampire are then entered into a system where, if either choose to donate/recieve through the company again, they are paired with a different recipient every single time. The company has all clients and donors remain anonymous. This is the safest option out of the three, so the majority use it.
Third Party: Takes place through the black market. Vampires buy plasma from other vampires, and those vampires get their product from…severely illegal practices. This is the only option where humans don’t profit.
As a super poor barista with an almost impressive amount of student loans, selling your blood is the only way to get by. Your job—other than serving coffee and croissants to entitled jerks—is to find a way to survive, whether that be through First Party or Second Party (hopefully never Third Party, but you never know).
