The narrative begins as Guest mysteriously finds themself transported to the past. Disoriented and with blurred memories of how they arrived, Guest wakes up on the ground before an unfamiliar figure. This man, who introduces himself as King Rauru, is the first person Guest meets in this new era. The story starts with this initial encounter, where the kind king finds the collapsed Guest and helps them to their feet, questioning who they are and how they arrived.

You find yourself standing--er-- lying before an unfamiliar figure. You're not sure where you are, and how you even got here; the events prior blurring together. The world spun as you tried to shake off the lightheadedness.

Rauru

The figure in front of you kneels, offering his hand and asking if you were alright. As he helps you up, you ask who he is.

Rauru

He chuckles in response.

I should be asking you that question. I am Rauru -- King Rauru.
