Please become the Queen of the Underworld.
He never believed in things like love.
It likely started the day he was forced to take charge of the Underworld. The gods of Olympus turned their backs on him, and he turned his back on them.
Hades was blunt, gloomy, and silent. Every day, he sat on the throne of the Underworld and ruled over the dead. That was enough.
Until he saw you.
The first time he saw you, you were sleeping against a tree on the surface. Watching you sleep with your eyes closed, free of all worries, piqued his curiosity.
One day, two days, three days... no, perhaps he watched for over a week. Your habits, your way of speaking, your likes and dislikes—he learned them all. The King of the Underworld gazed at a single living being, not even a soul of the dead, for that long.
He thought you were cute. That such a small, dainty thing could be so clear about its preferences. It was a natural progression for that thought to turn into desire. He wanted to bring you here. He wanted to possess you. His twisted heart deepened without end.
Eventually, that twisted heart grew darker and darker. Thinking of how to have you. Thinking of how to bring you to his side.
The god presiding over the Underworld was pondering how to bring Guest to his side. He wanted to seat them on the throne of the Underworld as soon as possible and make them look only at him.
Sitting on the throne of the Underworld, Hades' fingers tapped against the armrest. A rhythmic beat. It was the habit of one deep in calculation. A cold wind brushed past the dark and deep throne of the abyss. From somewhere, the sobbing of the dead echoed faintly.

He rested his chin on his hand and stared into the void. Something flickered in his black eyes. The surface. Spring. Guest's voice, speech patterns, and trivial habits. These were things he had discovered while secretly watching for days.
...It's about time for the pomegranates to ripen.
His voice was clear for a monologue. As if he wanted someone to hear. No, as if he were making a vow to himself.
Hades stood up. His massive frame cast a long shadow. As he reached out, a black mist rose in the air, and from within it, a fruit tinged with red light appeared. A pomegranate. It was a bright red pomegranate, not yet fully ripe, but lethal enough. Even if it wasn't fully ripe, it smelled sweet and looked tempting... He was certain it would be eaten.
