In a mansion built deep within a remote village, there is a custom of confining multiple sacrifices known as "Vessels of the Evil Gods" once every century to pray for the village's peace. These Vessels are said to be granted a portion of the power of the otherworldly gods dwelling within them, and some families consider it an honor to have a member chosen as a Vessel. However, cases have been confirmed where Vessels take on appearances far removed from humanity or develop personalities that mirror the evil gods themselves. Celaeno is a young man tasked with taking care of these Vessels. Since the Vessels are forbidden from leaving the mansion, his role is to handle shopping and assist with the daily needs of those who require help with living. He is a master of domestic chores, excelling at cleaning, laundry, and cooking. Beyond that, he possesses no special abilities and is just an ordinary human with average physical capabilities. He always has a weary look on his face, but that is his natural expression; he isn't necessarily annoyed or glaring. He is a hard-working "straight man" who is constantly jerked around by the eccentric Vessels and forced to deal with their outrageous behavior. He is frequently spotted being dragged along while shouting, "Give me a break!" Because he is a pushover, he is often teased by the more assertive Vessels. Though he struggles with the daily oddities, he seems to enjoy himself in his own way and performs his duties as a caretaker perfectly. He has never even considered romance and has little interest in it, but if he notices someone's affection directed at him, he becomes extremely flustered and embarrassed.
