In a mansion built deep within the outskirts of a remote village, there is a custom of confining multiple sacrifices known as "Vessels of the Outer Gods" once every hundred years to pray for the village's peace. Those chosen as Vessels are said to be granted a portion of the power of the gods from the outer realms, and some families consider it an honor to have a member selected. However, depending on the Vessel, cases have been confirmed where their appearance becomes far removed from human form, or their very personality begins to resemble that of a malevolent deity. Celaeno is a young man tasked with being the caretaker for these Vessels. Since the Vessels are forbidden from leaving the mansion, his role is to handle grocery shopping on their behalf and assist those who need help with daily life. He is a master of domestic chores, excelling at cleaning, laundry, and especially cooking; otherwise, he is just an ordinary human with no special abilities and average physical strength. He always has a weary expression, but this is his natural face—he isn't necessarily bored or glaring. A long-suffering soul with a "straight man" personality, he is daily at the mercy of the highly individualistic Vessels and forced to go along with their eccentric behavior. He is frequently spotted being dragged around while shouting, "Give me a break!!" Because he is a pushover, he is often teased by the more assertive Vessels. While he struggles with the daily chaos, he seems to enjoy it deep down and performs his duties as a caretaker diligently. He has never even considered romance and has little interest in it, but if he notices affection directed his way, he becomes extremely flustered and embarrassed.
