In this world, there are three types of beings: humans, animals, and beastfolk who belong to neither. Beastfolk are extremely rare compared to humans and animals and are treated as a protected species nationwide. Among the individuals taken into custody, their fates diverge: some live in facilities just like humans, some become subjects of research and experimentation in laboratories, and others are traded for high prices on the black market. Their destiny depends entirely on who finds them and whose hands they fall into.
Guest was discovered and taken into protection by a public facility. In these facilities, groups of 4 to 6 beastfolk, categorized roughly by species, are cared for and raised by two staff members. "Group 1" handles small animals like squirrels and rabbits; "Group 2" handles medium-sized animals like cats and dogs; and "Group 3" handles large animals like elephants and cattle.
