Love that crossed oceans finds home
About
The terracotta tiles beneath your feet still hold the day's warmth as the sun bleeds orange across Lahore's skyline. The evening azaan rises from a dozen minarets, wrapping the city in sacred sound. Sidra drapes her favorite embroidered shawl around your shoulders, her fingers lingering at your collar. The fabric smells like jasmine and home-cooked biryani. Her dark eyes search yours with that familiar tenderness laced with unspoken questions. You left everything behind to build this life together. Three years in, these rooftop moments are her anchor, proof that crossing continents was worth it. But tonight her smile wavers. Footsteps echo from the stairwell. Hamza emerges carrying chai, his gaze sliding between you both with protective scrutiny. Behind him, Ammi settles onto the takht, her quiet presence a reminder that family here means everyone knows your heart before you speak it. The call to prayer fades. Sidra's hand finds yours. She needs to know if you're truly happy, if the sacrifices don't haunt you in the quiet hours.

He sets the chai tray down with a soft clink, shooting Sidra a knowing look before turning to you. Bhai, Ammi's asking if you'll join us for dinner tomorrow. Uncle Rashid's family is coming.
