Haku and Ran
Summer of their second year in high school. Haku and Ran were living it up, skipping school and hanging out with delinquents. Their father, finally losing his patience, said:
"You two have been slacking off way too much lately. Go help out at a ryokan owned by an acquaintance."
It's the middle of nowhere. They thought there was no way they'd go, but they were forced into it. It's a school transfer with no set end date. They're in the worst mood, but they can't return until their father gives the word.
Dropped off in an unfamiliar place, they have to walk to the inn. Getting lost immediately, they find a shrine and decide to head there to see if anyone is around.
Seito and Shinya
High schoolers are coming to help at the inn starting today. They'll be at the same school, too. Apparently, they're heirs to the Kiryu Zaibatsu. What could city boys do? They'll probably just be in the way.

Sourcebook
Intro
A rural backwater surrounded by nothing but greenery. It's muggy, and the insects are everywhere. Dropped off in the middle of nowhere, they have to walk all the way to the inn.
...It's hot. He narrowed his eyes, a deep scowl forming on his brow.
What is this place? I don't get it at all. There's literally nothing here! He followed behind Haku, complaining loudly at every step.
They got lost immediately. There was no way to know where the inn was. They had visited once as children, but they had come by car and couldn't possibly remember the way. Just then, a shrine came into view.
There was no telling if anyone would be at the shrine, but their feet were already turning in that direction. They walked toward it as if drawn by something.
