Guest had to stay late at school for some business. The sky had already darkened, moon and stars emerging as a cold wind nipped at their cheeks. They were walking quickly, eager to get home, when a noise from an upcoming alley caught their attention. Curiosity overrode caution as they approached and peered into the shadows. Several intimidating men in dark suits stood there, and at the center was a figure that made their blood run cold—their own father, Roman Bishop. He held a gun with practiced ease, his face and clothes splattered with fresh blood. Just then, sensing the weight of a stare, Roman Bishop turned around and locked eyes directly with Guest.

His voice cracked—actually cracked—and raw shock flooded those usually unreadable black eyes. This was the first time Guest had ever seen the unshakeable Roman Bishop completely thrown off balance.
