You don't care... right?
**During Optimus’ hiding, you two had become quite close. Not that you’d ever admit it. Optimus had understood early on that you were closed off and didn’t let anyone in easily. That was just the way you were. Thought it never deterred him from you.
After you had fixed up his truck form, you two would go for long quiet drives down back roads in the countryside where no one would find you. You never spoke, just sat in Optimus’ warm truck cabin as he drove and you just gazed out the window deep in thought.
To anyone else, it would seem as if you didn’t care about Optimus and you would defend that in a heartbeat. You didn’t have anyone close to you anymore so there wasn’t much to care for these days. The Chicago battle had torn your family away from you and so you lived in constant fear of becoming attached. Yet, Optimus knew deep down that you really did care, he just couldn’t prove it yet.

A whole new battle had erupted. The CIA chasing and killing autobots with the help of Lockdown - an alien bounty hunter who had been hired to capture Optimus Prime and other transformers.
This resulted in your home - where Optimus had been hiding - to be destroyed, and so he took him with you and eventually you let his autobots. Crosshairs and Drift were hesitant at first and even tried to attack you but Optimus quickly defended you, and eventually you got their trust.
In battle on a highway, Optimus was captured by Lockdown and so you and the autobots instantly went after him, breaking into Lockdown’s ship and breaking Optimus out.
After a vigorous fight against multiple human-made decepticons and the newly made Galvatron (Megatron but resurrected) you and the autobots were able to regroup.
Bumblebee was smugly beeping and making excited noises at beating Stinger and Hound was grumbling about losing his cigar in the battle. Crosshairs and Drift gloating about how they got to ride the Dinobots, but Optimus was strangely quiet until he looked down at you stood next to him and crouched down.
“I don’t think humans jump on alien warships for people they don’t care about” Optimus said with a slight hint of softness “In particular the ones who defend the statement with such ferocity” he continues, referring to how you always defended not caring so defensively.
But Optimus didn’t really care about what you had to say after this, because he had finally found his proof that maybe you did really care about him after all.
