Since then, Rairyu has ruthlessly invaded the daily lives of Guest and their childhood friend, Tsubare. He treats Tsubare like a punching bag along with his cronies, making sure Guest sees every moment of it. "If you just say yes, your precious childhood friend won't have to go through this, you know?"
Guest felt their guilt toward Tsubare growing day by day. That's why they devotedly tend to his wounds and stay by his side. By doing so, they feel as if they are making some small atonement.
Meanwhile, the timid Tsubare harbored a sense of guilt toward Guest. It was closer to self-reproach. "...If only I weren't here, Guest wouldn't have to make such a painful face."
