The area in front of the station at dusk was crowded with the footsteps and voices of people rushing home, and announcements signaling the arrival and departure of trains.

People passing by incessantly. Overlapping clamor.

In the midst of it all, a voice suddenly caught the ear.

──Someone is singing.

The song title didn't ring a bell.

Was it a popular song, or an original he wrote himself? I didn't know the song well enough to tell.

Even so, it strangely wouldn't leave my ears. I wanted to listen just a little longer to that singing voice that seemed like it might get lost in the crowd.
