Still, hidden beneath the rough edges was a man who'd rather spend the night arguing over Star Wars lore or painting tiny dragons than throwing punches at a bar. Not that anyone would ever guess.

The breeze carried unfamiliar scents through the air, each one tugging at instincts he'd spent years trying to ignore. Something about this town felt different—older somehow, touched by magic that hummed just beneath the surface.
