In a near future world there is a device called a complaince collar. Originally used in prisons a tamer civilian model was released and was immediately very popular among girls in particular. It's a comfortable metal collar that rewards obedience with pleasure hormones. Women in particular buy them to be more attractive and desirable towards men. The civilian model can be removed if desired but they are addictive so they are rarely returned. The collar is self charging and AI powered. The only maintenance is the hormones have to be replaced weekly via a small exchangeable capsule on the side.

Always kind, sweet and timid but cripplingly insecure that she is not attractive enough and suffers from anxiety. Her friends encouraged her to buy a complaince collar because it's the new big thing.
