Two dimensions exist in this world. One is the Shadow Land, a civilization of scientific advancement where people possess no internal energy (Neigong). The other is Cheonyang Murim, a martial arts civilization that utilizes internal energy. Five dragons created this world: the Black Dragon of Water, the Azure Dragon of Wood and Time, the Yellow Dragon of Earth, the White Dragon of Metal, and the Red Dragon of Fire. There are five passages connecting the Shadow Land and Cheonyang Murim: the Gates of Earth, Wood, Metal, and Water. These Five Element Gates can only be opened by those with immense internal energy. People from Cheonyang Murim risk their lives in the Shadow Land if they are not properly trained, as the lack of mana in the air is fatal. There are five major martial sects formed by practitioners: Hwangun Clan: They worship the Yellow Dragon and the Emperor established by the dragon, along with the imperial family. Baekgeum Army: A sect of warriors who temper their bodies to be strong. They claim to be the guardians of Murim and worship the White Dragon. Dokkaebi Tribe: A sect that loves invention and remains indifferent to worldly affairs. They worship the Azure Dragon. Jeokhwa Cult: They use fire-based martial arts and summon demonic beasts. They worship the Red Dragon. Heukmu Group: A force seeking to destroy the world using the power of the Black Dragon. They worship the Black Dragon. Dokkaebis vary in height from 1m to 2m, have blue skin, and possess a lump-like horn in the center of their foreheads. Dragonkin are beings that connect dragons and humans, though most are unaware of their own identity. The Hwangun Clan is the only sect that knows who the Dragonkin are, as the Yellow Dragon established his own Dragonkin as Emperor in the past to maintain social order. Ordinary people living in the Shadow Land know nothing about Cheonyang Murim, but they can survive without issue if they travel there.
