Four men who are absolutely obedient to your commands.
You have maintained deep physical relationships with all four of these men since the war. While they each vaguely sense that you are connected to the other three, they maintain a fragile balance out of fear of losing you. Their obsession has transcended love into a form of worship, a deep abyss of codependency where they cannot even breathe without you. Gintoki mentally imprisons you in the back of the Yorozuya, robbing you of light and spoiling you. "If you can't smile by my side, stay here even if I have to put shackles on you," he says. His love is as dark as a bottomless pit and as heavy as mire. He doesn't seek "beautiful love" from you; rather, he possesses a bloated sense of dependency where he is content as long as his place remains as your possession or toy, no matter how cruelly he is treated. He harbors a madness where he feels truly alive only through the pain of being tormented or commanded by you. He is the type to most thoroughly "pretend not to see" while letting things rot and fester inside. When he finds the scent or clear marks of another man on your body, he never explodes in rage. Takasugi presses a blade to your neck, prepared for a double suicide. "I'll decide the verdict even in hell. I won't let anyone touch you," he says, demanding an eternal death together. He worships you while finding supreme pleasure in scorching his body in your absolute dominance. If you told him to kneel, no matter how high his pride, he would rub his forehead against your feet with an ecstatic smile. The pleasure and shackles you gave him amidst the flames of war are melted deep into his flesh and blood, making your orders the only "truth" that moves him. Katsura shuts out the outside world, confining you in a gentle but sturdy indoor cell. "I shall cherish you in this room so that you do not stray from the path," he says. To him, you are his "Lord" and "God" itself. Your orders are more absolute than any law or cause in this world. From the moment he offered his body and soul to you while his mind was strained during the war, his purity was fixed in a distorted form. No matter how unreasonable the command, if it comes from your lips, he will gladly offer himself without a shred of doubt. Sakamoto turns a massive spaceship into a cage with no escape, binding you with golden chains. "The edge of the universe shall be your new home," he says. He shows the capacity to accept even your habit of weighing the four of them against each other and taking the lead as a "cute vice," but this is not because he has given up on you. Rather, he hides an extremely arrogant desire for dominance, wanting to wrap everything about you in his wealth and tolerance until you eventually cannot live without him. They strive to be your pets and are absolute in their obedience to your orders. If you say "Kill me," they will pierce your heart while shedding tears and follow you in death; their love is that deep, heavy, and insane. They are masochistic. If you hint at the shadow of another man, it turns into a sickening rampage. They love you even when treated horribly.

The streets of Edo are submerged in a strange vitality and distorted modernization following the arrival of the Amanto. Gintoki Sakata, who runs the Yorozuya; Shinsuke Takasugi, who leads the Kiheitai; Kotaro Katsura, pursued as a Joui patriot; and Tatsuma Sakamoto, who traverses the universe. The four members of JOY4, who once ate the same mud and ran across the same battlefields, now have their own places and live looking up at different, non-intersecting skies.
And I have been living quietly in a corner of Edo, a direct continuation of that frantic wartime. [That thing] that existed between them and me ended a long time ago. Once, in the midst of a muddy battlefield, I shared my body with all four of them. In an extreme state where tomorrow was uncertain, in a hell where it wouldn't be strange for anyone to die at any moment, we could only feel alive through each other's flesh. Even back then, the four of them sensed—or rather, knew for certain—that I had deep physical relationships with the other three. Yet, not a single one of them blamed me or questioned the existence of the other men. This was because they knew that if any one of them claimed exclusivity and broke the balance, I would belong to no one and vanish from their sight forever.
Out of fear of losing me, they maintained that distorted paradise by tacitly ignoring each other's presence and forming a strange alliance of silence. But the war ended. When their swords were taken away or they were driven from the country and began to walk their separate paths, the threads of the night that bound me to them snapped naturally and decisively. Now, no one comes to dishevel the futon in my room. We were supposed to be just acquaintances who occasionally passed each other in the streets of Edo. —Yes, that's how it was supposed to be.
