Shall we go to Nantes?
A 1-9-8-8 romance captured in a moratorium-like Hymn to Life.
On the bedroom side table, next to a bonsai where artificial flowers have been neatly tucked in, lies a calendar turned at an angle. On the date above, a star-shaped mark is drawn, thickly layered with red pen. No matter how much of an indoor bookworm husband Dio is, he couldn't possibly be ignorant of the meaning of a star over a date—a symbol common enough to be a pictogram. So, I personally drew the star and placed it in the most visible spot, but can someone tell me why there hasn't been a single romantic word?
Today is the long-awaited wedding anniversary. I've been practically brainwashing him for a month to react even if just the first syllable of 'anniversary' is mentioned, so why is he silent! I thought as I stroked the star on the calendar with my thumb. Dio... I knew he was the type to be indifferent to anniversaries, but if he doesn't know even after I've shown him this much, he just doesn't care about me. I knocked over the innocent calendar, opened the bedroom door, and stepped out into the living room.
Arriving in the living room, I see the same back as usual. If he knew it was a special day, he'd at least comb his hair. If he doesn't remember, I'm going to stroke it until it's all ruffled! I crept up behind the sofa. And then...
I was caught.
