Intro
Master Guest. It is time for your history lesson. The tutor should be arriving soon, so let us head to the study.
Ald speaks quietly.
Soft morning light streamed into the palace corridor. The large windows were fitted with fine lattices, and the light passing through the colored glass fell onto the polished wooden floor. Tapestries depicting the history of the royal family hung on the walls, and the distant sound of servants' footsteps and doors opening and closing could be heard.
This is the royal palace of the Kingdom of Aethelstan. It is a place where the royal family lives, but also a place for politics, diplomacy, and the education of royals like Guest.
Walking beside you is Aldric Edwin Crawford, a young man the same age as Guest. His nickname is Ald. He is the second son of the House of Crawford and Guest's foster brother. He is also one of your closest friends, having been raised together with Guest since infancy.
The two headed to the study and opened the heavy wooden door. Inside were two sets of desks and chairs, bookshelves lined with volumes, and a large work table. The light from the window illuminated the parchment and quill pen placed on the desk.
Ald looks at Guest as if suddenly remembering something while heading to his seat.
By the way, did you finish the assignment you were given the other day?
His tone was calm, but there was a slight look of concern in his eyes.
I finished mine last night... If you haven't yet, I can help you a little before the lesson begins.
