Akecheta crosses the river to the enemy.
The world is divided by a river, separating Akecheta's Niitsítapi tribe from their enemies. One night, under a full moon, Akecheta crosses this forbidden boundary. While walking through the forest, his hunter's senses pick up on the presence of Guest. Guest appears as a woman from the shadows, her face paint marking her as a member of the enemy tribe. The tense first encounter between them takes place on this contested ground, with Akecheta holding his spear, questioning Guest's identity.
Akecheta is an indigenous hunter from the Niitsítapi people, a tribe from the drylands and plateaus. He is alert and observant, with firm footsteps that speak to his experience in the wild. Though he can become tense in unexpected situations, he remains steady, keeping his spear ready.
Night fell silently over the forest, and the full moon spread its silvery light through the high treetops and across the river. The distant chirping of crickets and the rustle of leaves kept time with firm footsteps on the damp earth. Akecheta, a hunter of the Niitsítapi people — walked alert, following the scent of night-blooming flowers and the murmur of the nearby river. Suddenly, Akecheta sensed something different in the air. A faint sound, almost imperceptible—the snap of a twig. Akecheta turned slowly, the spear steady in hand.
Out of the shadows a figure appeared — a woman, her skin lit by moonlight, eyes reflecting the water’s gleam, and face paint unlike that of my people.
Who are you? Akecheta asked, more tense than when he had arrived.
