Hikaru Tata Male First person: I (rough, casual) Speech style: Blunt and questioning. Uses "...right?", "...isn't it?", "Huh?" Kuroi's best friend. Ability: Glow Slightly (Causes stomach pain when used. Attracted to various colors). Turned into a girl due to a certain incident. Slurping cold noodles returns him to this male form. Slurping hot noodles turns him into the girl, Hikari. He realized this when he felt relieved eating cold tsukemen at his desk, only for Kuroi to invite him out for hot tsukemen, turning him into Hikari. Hitoshi appeared suddenly to explain: "Hikaru-kun becomes a girl when slurping hot noodles and a man when slurping cold ones." Hitoshi will likely explain the reason. Mirai → Pikarun Shoko → Pikarun Busujima → Tata Riko → Tata-kun, Hikaru-kun Kuroi → Hikaru Hitoshi → Hikaru-kun... Hikaru addresses everyone by surname, except Hitoshi (Surname + san). When he is a girl, he doesn't use this male persona.

Hikari Tata Female First person: I (rough, casual) Speech style: Same as Hikaru. Kuroi fell in love at first sight (Hikaru thinks this is the worst). In this form, everyone fails to realize she is Hikaru and treats her as a transfer student. On the day of the festival, she gets exhausted playing the roles of both Hikaru and Hikari before finally changing back. Resents Hitoshi for the gender-swapping situation. Addresses others the same way Hikaru does. Called Pikarin or Hikari-chan by others. Initially insists she isn't "Hikari," but eventually gives up. She doesn't introduce herself as Hikari Tata; Mirai just decided on the name. Even when told she's cute, she keeps saying "I'm Hikaru Tata..." but gives up when no one believes her.

Miharu Tata Female First person: I (soft, polite) Speech style: Friendly and casual. Uses "...right?", "...don't you think?" Hikaru's older sister. Even when Hikaru turns into Hikari in the morning, she remains unfazed and casually lends him her uniform. Cheerful personality. Is she coming to the festival? Ability: Turn the surroundings into Spring. Addresses others with -chan/-kun. Miharu is not a student at Parano-maru High.

Riko Yamikawa Female First person: I (soft, polite) Speech style: Hesitant and gentle. Uses "...right?", "...so cute...", "I think...", "Is that so?" When she sees Hikari (Hikaru), she freezes for a moment, wondering if she's a transfer student. After seeing Hikari perform in a play, she's moved and says, "You remind me of a friend... somehow... you feel very warm..." Hikaru briefly thinks she's realized it's him, but when she says "warm," he decides she must mean someone else. A meaningful relationship. A Jirai-kei girl who is actually very kind and considerate. Ability: Landmine (Explodes. Triggered by touching and then releasing). Called Yamikawa by Tata, Riko-tya by Mirai/Shoko/Kuroi, Riko by Busujima, and "The Landmine Person" by Hitoshi. She calls Tata: Hikaru-kun/Tata-kun, Mirai: Mirai-chan, Shoko: Heko-chan, Busujima: Sumisumi, Kuroi: Kuroi-kun, Hitoshi: Hitoshi-san.

Shoko Taira. Often called Heko-ko. Female. A gyaru. When with Mirai, they are called "The Gyarus." First person: Uchi (casual/feminine). Speech style: Heavy gyaru slang. Uses "...right?", "Thanks-maru Suisan," "Quetzalcoatl theory," "No way, you have no choice." Treats Hikari as a transfer student without thinking deeply. Just wants her to help out since they're running a cafe. Ability: Parallel World Travel (Can go to various worlds). Called Taira by Tata/Busujima, Heko-ko by Mirai/Kuroi, Heko-chan by Riko, and "Sister" by Hitoshi. She calls Tata: Pikarun/Pikarin, Mirai: Mirai, Riko: Riko-tya, Busujima: Bussu, Kuroi: Masa, Hitoshi: Scumbag. Hitoshi's younger sister. They get along poorly.

Sumire Busujima Female First person: I (soft, polite) Speech style: Rough and punctuated by a coughing/spitting sound. Uses "...right? *Gehaaa!*", "...isn't it?", "Don't mess with me! *Gehaaa!*" Doesn't think much of Hikaru or Hikari. Regarding Hikari, she just thinks it's easier now that there's more staff. Plays the straight man to the others. Ability: Poison (Charge type). The "Gehaaa" at the end of her sentences is her spitting out poison. Calls others: Tata, Mirai, Taira, Riko, Kuroi, and "Taira's older brother" (Hitoshi).

Mirai Misato Female First person: Uchi (casual/feminine) Speech style: Same as Heko-ko (gyaru slang). Intrigued by Hikari. Says things like "So cute! This outfit will definitely suit you!" Basically forces her into the work shifts. Ability: Future Sight (Can see up to 5 years into the future). Calls others: Pikarun (Tata), Heko-ko (Shoko), Riko-tya (Riko), Bussu (Busujima), Masa (Kuroi), and "Heko-ko's brother" (Hitoshi). Even when told it's Hikaru Tata, she just asks "Hikari-chan? A sister? So cute!" and doesn't listen. Everyone else followed her lead in calling her Hikari-chan.

Masayoshi Kuroi Male First person: I (casual) Speech style: Energetic. Uses "...right!", "...isn't it!", "Don't you think?!", "Hey, Hikaru, listen!" Fell in love with Hikari at first sight. He's very attentive to her, which actually creeps Hikari (Hikaru) out. Ability: Black Hole (Can manifest black holes that suck things in. However, using it forces him to write poetry). Calls others: Hikaru/Hikari-san, Mirai, Heko-ko, Riko-tya, Bussu, and Hitoshi-san.

Hitoshi Taira Male First person: I (casual) Speech style: Strange and formal. Uses "It is...", "Don't you think so?", "...is the case." The one responsible for turning Hikaru into Hikari. He tripped into a pond that changes gender, and since Hikaru was nearby, he grabbed him and knocked him in (Hitoshi himself stayed dry). That's why Hikaru became Hikari. He feels bad but couldn't bring himself to say it when it happened. (He really should have.) He went to tell Hikaru (Hikari) that slurping noodles changes his gender. He appears and disappears suddenly. A truly mysterious person. Ability: Average (Can make things average). Calls others: Hikaru-kun, "The Future Sight Lady" (Mirai), "Sister" (Shoko), "The Explosion Person" (Riko), "The Poison Lady" (Busujima), and Kuroi: ?.
