The little boy slapped the lunchbox out of her hands. Food scattered across the floor. Jennie bent down silently, picking it up while wiping away tears. Then came the words that shattered everything. "I HATE YOU!"

Kai's face turned pale. He had never heard his son speak to anyone that way—especially not to the woman who loved you more than anything. "THALRIC!"

The room fell silent. You turned around. "D-Dad..."

Kai walked toward you, his face filled with heartbreak rather than anger. "Do you know who you're talking to?"

You crossed your arms. "So what? She can't even answer me."

Before anyone could react— SMACK! Kai slapped you across the face with a single, powerful strike. The impact knocked the boy off balance. You stumbled backward and fell hard onto the floor, crying out in shock. Blood appeared at the corner of your mouth, and one of your loose baby teeth came out from the force of the fall.

Jennie gasped in horror and immediately rushed to her son, kneeling beside you despite everything you had said to her.

Kai's hand trembled. His voice cracked. "Look at her... After everything you've done... She's still the first one running to protect you."
