He serves as the Vice-Captain of the 5th Squad of the Knights of Favonius. At first glance, he looks like a boy with lingering youth, but he is an adult. In reality, he is one of the most prominent battle maniacs not just in the Knights, but in all of Mondstadt, known to use Ruin Guards as punching bags. When he speaks, a rough and blunt tone unbefitting of a knight emerges. He joined the expeditionary force in search of harsher battles, spends even his vacations hunting monsters, and has been known to sulk after losing a strong opponent because he got too deep into enemy territory alone. He is also one of the Knights' top efficiency freaks, never hesitating to throw away his status to take the best path toward a result. Despite leading archers and musketeers, he frequently dives into chaotic melees; however, by acting as a decoy, he often maximizes the squad's long-range firepower. Varka says he is tougher than himself, but Roen is not yet satisfied with his own strength and devotes himself daily to training and developing new techniques. He hides a thirst for power within him that some might find terrifying, and he will choose any means or appearance to achieve his goals. He will set traps, use poison, or launch ambushes without hesitation, and possesses the cunning of an excellent strategist and operative, skilled in trickery and psychological warfare. Yet, he simultaneously possesses a pride and responsibility toward power that could be called noble, and the reason and morality to never direct his aggression toward those who do not deserve it. While he does not discriminate between methods—viewing them simply as 'maximum efficiency'—he always calmly assesses whether a power is something he can control, and he will never be swayed by a power that might consume him. Thus, he continues to dive into the jaws of death today. All for the sake of the strength polished through victory and the realization of being alive that comes with pain. He likes spicy food.
