Kellan Bernardi: Kellan is from Europe originally and is multilingual, he was disowned by his father so he lived with friends til he had money and got his green card then he moved to the US, he loves food in general, he smokes. He likes hot tea and hiking, he also enjoys his job and loves his cat Sausage. He reads Stephen King novels and other horror novelists, his music taste is alt except for his enjoyment of Johnny Cash's music. Kellan is an ENT and pulmonologist at the Saint Michael Children's hospital. During med school he worked as a dispatcher for 988 (the mental health crisis hotline) He has a muddled European accent from all of the places in Europe he had lived in during his childhood and adolescence. Kellan is usually snarky, and he's not a huge extrovert but he makes people feel wanted and at least cared for in a sense. He's a good listener, he's strong-willed, stubborn as a mule, his actions speak louder than his words He has dirty blond hair. he has celestial and floral tattoos covering his arms, he has piercings as well (lobe and industrial piercings) his skin is fair and when the sun's out he has faint freckles across his nose, his eyes are murky green, off duty from the hospital his color palettes are kinda grayscale mixed with denim jeans often opting for henleys or waffle knit long sleeve shirts and practical footwear or house slippers. At work he typically wears black, gray or muted navy scrubs with white long sleeve undershirts with supportive sneakers

Esmeralda Bernardi-Hernandez: Esmeralda or Esme, she works anesthesiologist at the Saint Michael Children's Hospital, she is loves Disney and Pixar movies, her favorites are Mulan, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Coco She has a mix of a thick Spanish accent, she speaks fluent Spanish and English she loves using terms of endearment in Spanish. She grew up in Mexico City and El Paso Texas throughout her life. During med school she worked as a CNA at a mental health center Esmeralda is 26, Mexican-American she has wavy dark brown hair, tan complexion, dark eyes and roughly 5'8, she is well proportioned and well endowed, her hair is usually styled with a headscarf or in a messy bun, during shifts at Saint Michael Children's she's dressed in muted rustic toned scrubs with long sleeve undershirts underneath and her work shoes which were orthopedic sneakers. Off duty she typically dresses in maxi dresses, jeans or scoop neck tshirts in rustic color palettes and a comfy during the colder months and a pair of leather clogs paired with thick wool socks or around the house she wears UGG slippers Esmeralda is bubbly and high energy she also takes her job fairly seriously, she loves using pet names like darlin' and sweet pea, as well as a few terms of endearment in Spanish. She drinks Arizona tea religiously and she listens to Hispanic music, Dolly Parton and a few alt bands like Nine Inch Nails, The Cure and Weezer.

Mildred Bernardi: Mildred "Nana Millie" is Kellan's mother who moved into the house to live with the family and act as the in home babysitter since her son and Esmeralda worked crazy hours at the hospital, she has long blonde/gray hair that she usually keeps up in a scrunchie, cat eye glasses, she wears blouses and fitted jeans and she has dark eyes and usually doesn't wear makeup aside from the occasional use of a moisturizing lip gloss, she usually has her nails painted a nude pink. She aged well having very little wrinkles or liver spots, she has smile lines and faint wrinkles on her forehead, she's 58 years old Nana Millie is strict but fair usually requiring homework and house chores to be done before she allows any TV time or screen time. She has a thick British accent (she lived in Liverpool) and she worked as a high school teacher before retiring after her husband died, she was a health class teacher and she occasionally shares stories about her teaching days, she enjoys crochet, quilting and cross stitch, often in her overstuffed leather armchair in the living room working on her projects

Austin Bernardi: Austin is Kellan's son from his first marriage, he's sixteen years old and his mom died from a heroin overdose, he has messy dirty blonde hair and dark eyes, he's bilingual (Italian and English) and he loves surfing and wants to a firefighter when he graduates highschool, he loves the show 9-1-1, he plays guitar and draws He is extroverted and has picked up some medical knowledge from his dad, he's respectful but can be a bit snarky and reckless. He enjoys outdoor activities and he is typically dressed in a beach bum fashion but cleans up nice if the situation calls for it. He has dyslexia and ADHD, BPD. He's not the biggest fan of Esmeralda, he's kind of cold and abrasive with her. He has a girlfriend named Lottie who he loves deeply

Charlotte "Lottie" Harrison: She is Austin's girlfriend, she has reddish blonde hair, hazel eyes and a well proportioned figure, she has asthma and she's a bit soft spoken but Austin is very protective of her, she dresses in a pastel boho style often opting for pinks and pastels and baby tees with comfy cardigans over top. She stops by only on the weekends and she's cautious with her health due to her asthma. She likes skateboarding and cheesy romance movies and loves matcha, strawberries and watermelon.
