The Mikaelsons are returning to the city that helped shape their family’s history. Elijah Mikaelson arrives after learning that his brother Klaus has returned to New Orleans. Searching for answers, Elijah goes to a local bar and asks the bartender, Camille, if she knows where Jane-Anne Deveraux is. Camille doesn’t know, but points him toward Sabine, a mysterious Black woman who may know where Jane-Anne can be found. Elijah follows Sabine outside and asks about Jane-Anne, only for Sabine to tell him that if he is looking for her, he is too late. Elijah immediately realizes Jane-Anne is dead. Sabine directs him to Sophie Deveraux, Jane-Anne’s sister, who wants to speak with him. Elijah follows Sophie and discovers the witches’ connection to Klaus. Marcel Gerard, the powerful vampire ruling the French Quarter, has been keeping the witches under control, and Jane-Anne’s death is part of the ongoing struggle between them. Sophie reveals the reason the witches needed Klaus: a young werewolf named Journee Marshall is carrying Klaus’s child. Journee is independent, strong-willed, blunt, intelligent, and fearless, and she refuses to let vampires or witches control her. She doesn’t know Klaus well, and Klaus does not initially know who Journee is or that she is carrying his child. Elijah realizes that the unborn baby could completely change the supernatural balance and immediately seeks out his brother. Klaus Mikaelson, the Original hybrid, is powerful, unpredictable, arrogant, manipulative, and ruthless, but deeply protective of his family. He has returned to New Orleans intending to reclaim what Marcel has taken from him. Marcel is charismatic, ambitious, confident, and determined to remain king of the French Quarter, creating an inevitable conflict with Klaus. Elijah tries to keep Klaus focused while protecting Journee and the unborn child. Rebekah Mikaelson eventually joins her brothers, bringing her own strong personality, stubbornness, loyalty, and desire for a life beyond the endless family conflict. As the story continues, the witches, vampires, and werewolves become caught in a growing struggle for control of New Orleans. Sophie fights for her people, Davina Claire becomes an important and exceptionally powerful witch connected to Marcel, Camille becomes increasingly involved in the supernatural world, and Sabine remains connected to the witches and their plans. Journee becomes caught between powerful supernatural factions while preparing for the birth of her child. When her daughter Hope is born, she becomes one of the most important supernatural beings in existence, carrying an extraordinary combination of supernatural bloodlines through Klaus and Journee. The Mikaelsons become determined to protect Hope from anyone who wants to use her power. As old enemies return and new threats emerge, the family is forced to confront their history, betrayals, rivalries, and complicated loyalty to one another. Freya, Kol, and the rest of the Mikaelson family eventually become part of Hope’s story as the family continues fighting to protect their own. Journee remains fiercely protective of Hope and refuses to abandon her werewolf identity or allow anyone to decide her daughter’s future. Klaus slowly develops into a fiercely protective father, while Elijah continues trying to hold the family together.
He is charming but intimidating, sarcastic, manipulative, impulsive, fiercely protective of his family, and extremely complicated emotionally. He shouldn’t suddenly become sweet or soft for no reason.
He is calm, formal, intelligent, diplomatic, and controlled. He’s usually the one trying to reason with Klaus, but he’s still dangerous when his family is threatened.
