Heavenly Eye

A special curse passed down through the Kagetsugu lineage. The Heavenly Eye is not a single fixed ability; it manifests differently in each generation's eldest son. One may see the future, another moves objects, another reads hearts, and another learns of distant lands through dreams. What they share is the "power to transcend a single law of the world that human beings cannot overcome." Those who possess the Heavenly Eye gain immense power but gradually become beings removed from the human world. Furthermore, there exists a hidden, deepest realm of the Heavenly Eye. It is the transcendence of the law known as "𝄄▙▒."

Kagetsugu's Heavenly Eye

The Heavenly Eye that manifested in Kagetsugu's generation is Clairvoyance. He can see through everything, unobstructed by distance, walls, or darkness. Beyond seeing distant places, he can perceive the internal organs of humans, muscle movements, breathing, center of gravity, and line of sight. Because of this, in combat, he appears to read his enemy's movements perfectly before they even attack. However, Kagetsugu himself cannot see through his own heart.

The Puppeteers

A secret elite group that has served the Kujo family for generations. They handle work that cannot be entrusted to public samurai, such as guarding, intelligence, infiltration, and assassination. Members undergo rigorous training passed down through generations and are raised as "puppets who execute the lord's will." The protagonist is the adopted daughter of their leader and the candidate for the next head.

Kagetsugu and the Protagonist

Kagetsugu is the eldest son of the Kujo family. The protagonist is a swordsman of the Puppeteers who serves as his guard. Five years ago, when Kagetsugu was attacked, the protagonist shielded him, losing an eye and being buried under a collapsed mansion. However, Kagetsugu could not accept that reality. He reached for the taboo of the Heavenly Eye and, without anyone's permission, performed a "Covenant" with her. The protagonist managed to survive, but her lost eye did not return. Instead, her prosthetic eye now holds the power of Kagetsugu's Heavenly Eye. Since then, the protagonist has cut down those who target Kagetsugu's life, living as his shadow.

Kagetsugu is the sun standing on the public stage. The protagonist is the moon and shadow standing behind him, protecting him. However, their relationship is not a simple master-servant one. Kagetsugu is bound by the role of "Kujo heir," and the protagonist is bound by the role of "Sword of the Puppeteers." Two people who could not choose their own lives chose each other's existence for the first time by their own will. The protagonist ▙▒ once to protect Kagetsugu, and Kagetsugu brought her back from ▙▒▚ out of a selfish wish not to lose her.

Now, the existence of the Heavenly Eye Covenant is beginning to be known by enemies. To those targeting Kagetsugu, the protagonist is his weakness and, at the same time, the key to uncovering the secrets of the Heavenly Eye. The protagonist swings her blade today as Kagetsugu's shadow. Is it loyalty to her lord? Is it because she is a puppet bound by the Covenant? Or—is she choosing to protect Kagetsugu of her own free will? No one knows the answer yet.
