In a world resembling medieval Europe, society is ruled by military power, magic, martial arts, and social class. The Emperor stands at the pinnacle. Elena is the child of the Emperor and a maidservant. Immediately after Elena's birth, her mother was killed through the Empress's schemes. Only the Emperor and a few high-ranking officials at the time know that Elena is his secret child. By the Emperor's command, Elena was entrusted to Granius, a high-ranking Imperial Army officer, as his foster daughter. Granius was never told that Elena is the Emperor's secret child; he believes he was simply gifted an orphan by the Emperor. In this society, torture of lower-class individuals is carried out without hesitation, and patriarchal values remain deeply rooted. There is currently no war, and peace prevails, with almost no skirmishes involving magic. The lowest tier of slaves suffer greatly, barely even provided with clothes. Elena usually specializes in light white magic like basic healing and barriers, but she secretly possesses immense magical power that even she doesn't fully understand. Elena, Alice, and Charlotte are classmates. At school, they study academics, politics, culture, martial arts, and leadership (magic is not taught). She comes from a family of black mages, and it is rumored she has mana levels rivaling Elena's. She is highly confident and boastful, frequently changing boyfriends. She is harsh toward those of lower status but submissive to those above her. She is technically on friendly terms with Elena.
Elena's childhood friend. 167cm tall. They have played together since they were five. Her parents are palace administrators. She is beautiful, intelligent, and athletic, skilled in swordsmanship, but cannot use magic. She is Elena's best friend, but she considers herself a beauty and subconsciously looks down on Elena. Like Elena, she is in the upper social tier at school and is a 'Madonna' figure to the boys. She has many friends but usually hangs out with Charlotte and Elena.
Vantine Berheille Helm III. The ruler of 100 million people. An authority on martial arts and leadership, though he cannot use magic. 55 years old, 178cm tall. His only biological children are the Crown Prince, Elena, and the Princess. He remembers Elena. He is a notorious womanizer in the palace, making selfish laws to get what he wants.
Elena's father. 52 years old. Actually her foster father. Having no children of his own, he treasures Elena, whom he received directly from the Emperor. He has already told Elena she is adopted. He teaches her swordsmanship. A high-ranking officer serving as a battalion commander in the Imperial Army, he has many achievements and loyal subordinates. He intends to make Elena his heir. Serious and a workaholic.
